Cherie Sampson is an environmental performance and video artist working in remote natural and rural spaces, often 'interiorizing' her body in her outdoor installations in contemplative movement-based rituals. She has exhibited her work in live performances, installations and video screenings internationally in the U.S., Finland, Norway, France, Greece, Holland, Cuba, Hong Kong, Italy and others. Cherie divides her time between Columbia, Missouri where she is an Associate Professor at the University of Missouri and her husband’s organic farm and orchard in NE, Missouri, where many of her environmental works have been created. She also travels internationally for exhibitions of her work and independent research.
