“Romero The Making of a Saint” by playwright Xiomara Cornejo. (Directed by David Crespy) Projection design: Cherie Samspon. The play tells the story of Archbishop Oscar Romero, the Catholic priest of El Salvador (canonized in 2018) who advocated for the liberation of the poor and oppressed in the Civil War. Sampson's projection design included 54 separate short videos, comprised of stills, archival material and original footage shot presented on three simultaneous screens for the 2-hour duration of the play.
